Erika Wright-Hadeed

Erika Wright-Hadeed is the oldest. She and her wonderful husband, Ted, have been married for 20 years and are the parents of 11 children ranging in age from 19 to 5 months. In the past Erika pursued a pre-med degree at the University of Maryland on a full scholarship, but after a long and contemplative seven months, she made the decision to toss all of that aside and live out her buried dreams of becoming a wife and mother.

Today, Erika is busy home schooling 7 of her 11 children and managing most of the affairs of her household along with Ted. Given the fact that Erika has been pregnant and/or nursing for the past twenty years and is in fact nursing her 11th, it’s unbelievable, but nonetheless true, that with everything else on her plate, she somehow finds the time and energy to maintain a svelte figure. However, she doesn't attribute it all to her regular exercise program. She contends that the real reason she stays so thin is that by the time the family feeding frenzy is over, there’s literally nothing left for her to eat.

In her "spare" time Erika has accomplished some pretty amazing feats. For example, she single-handedly invented a disposable pregnancy test and drafted a patent for it while pregnant with her seventh child and nursing a broken arm. In the future, however, she has her sights set on even loftier goals. She hopes to accomplish reading a book from cover to cover, going to bed by 9 p.m. and waking at 5 a.m., growing a lavish vegetable garden complete with an oasis of pansies, completing a workout without interruptions, becoming a certified nutrition consultant, and…oh yeah…hosting a radio show with her sisters!
